SUBAK TREK
Subak is a community organisation that specifically regulates the irrigation system used for rice farming in Bali. In general, Subak has a temple called Pura Ulun Carik or Pura Bedugul. In the morning, after breakfast, you will be directed by a local guide to visit the rice fields through coffee, cocoa and avocado plantations for around 45 minutes to 1 hour before you find the rice fields which are also a source of livelihood for the local community. If your holiday coincides with the rice planting season, you are very lucky to be able to witness farmers planting rice or plowing the fields. There are two rice planting seasons a year, there is local rice which is 6 months old from the start of the planting season, there is also gedig rice which is only 3.5 months old from planting. During your visit to the rice fields, there are many types of plants which will be explained by your local guide until you arrive at the finish point and you will enjoy coffee or tea and typical Balinese snacks. Your driver will be waiting for you to return to your next destination. This trip takes 2-3 hours walking up and down but it is not difficult it is a medium track
